When Life Happens To You

When life happens to you how do you handle it? No one can tell you how to or how long to grieve. You have both good and bad days and they seem to hit you out of nowhere.

Sometimes you wake up and know it’s going to be a bad day. Other days you feel like you are going to be alright.   In November on one of my good days, I made an attempt to get back into blogging, but I quickly realized that I wasn’t ready.

Falling Apart

In the process of trying to start my blogging again, I also attempted to get back into my workout routine. After one workout with my trainer, I had trouble stepping down on my left heel. I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis. I was referred to a Podiatrist who put me in an air cast.

The next three months, I wore the air cast and slept in a night splint until my foot healed. As soon as my doctor released me I went back to my trainer to start this journey AGAIN.

The three months helped heal me physically but not emotionally. My time spent on the couch left me thinking quite a bit and helped me figure out what I wanted to do with my life. Blogging was nice, but I wanted to make a greater impact in the lives of others with their health.

A New Path

After doing a lot of research I decided to go back to school to become a Health Coach. Today I am a Certified Health Coach and successfully making a difference in the lives of others, as well as, my own.

My weight gain resulted in elevated blood pressure readings which I am now proud to say that my weight is going down and so has my blood pressure. I was able to reduce it with healthy lifestyle changes.

Pure-trition has gone from a nutrition blog to a website of a Health Coach who focuses on helping individuals reduce their high blood pressure. Worldwide high blood pressure affects 1.1 Billion people.

As a Health Coach, I help people make lifestyle changes in nutrition, movement, stress, and mindset. My goal is to bridge the gap between doctors and patients by helping patients implement the doctor’s recommendations.

My Health & Wellness programs and packages will help individuals create healthier lifestyles. While my focus is on high blood pressure, much of what I do may help improve overall health.

Blogging will remain part of the website but my posts will cover much more than nutrition now. My hope is that you will remain a faithful reader and spread the word so that we can begin working to reduce high blood pressure worldwide.
